From 'The Gloucester to Ledbury Branch' : Dymock station in the spring of 1959, with an unidentified ex-GWR railcar, in BR crimson & cream livery, having paused with a Gloucester to Ledbury service. The sylvan setting, on the borders of rural west Gloucestershire and Herefordshire, the William Clarke-designed station building and the neatly maintained platform gardens, combine to concisely sum up the character of this cross-country branch, the passenger service on which had only a couple of months left to run when this photograph was taken.
