Railways with a Colourful Past Volume Two

This second collection of colourised railway images once again sets out to restore the lost colour of many superb historical photographs that were recorded in black and white, illustrating the rich diversity of liveries seen by the cameramen of the day but which they were unable to capture on film. Covering a wide variety of railways and locations across the British mainland, the choice of images extends from the Victorian and Edwardian periods right through to the 1950s when the diffculty and cost of using colour film meant that many photographers still worked predominantly inblack and white. By unlocking the images from their monochrome past, these digitally colourised viewshelp us to appreciate an aspect of our railway history that has often been overlooked.
